Terms of Use

Last updated: August 8, 2026

Agreement

By using Grandma's Front Porch — entering the family invite code, adding information, uploading a photo, or subscribing to the newsletter — you agree to these terms. This site is a private family community, run informally by family members for family and close friends, and is provided as-is with no warranty of any kind.

Access

Most of the site requires the family invite code; the admin area (the "Sanctum") requires a separate password. Both are shared at the family's discretion and can be changed or revoked at any time, for any reason, without notice.

Content you submit

  • You confirm you have the right to share anything you upload, and, for photos of other people, a reasonable belief that they (or their parent/guardian, if a minor) would be comfortable with it being shared here.
  • You keep ownership of what you submit. By submitting it, you give this site permission to display and use it for the community's purposes described here.
  • The site administrator may edit, hide, or remove any submitted content — a tree entry, a photo, an event, anything — at their discretion, without notice.
  • A family-tree detail that's already filled in can only be corrected by the administrator, on request (use the Contact Us link in the footer) — not overwritten directly. Removing a person or a photo is administrator-only.

Expected conduct

Be respectful. Don't impersonate anyone, harass anyone, or upload content you don't have the right to share. The administrator may restrict access for anyone who doesn't.

No warranty, limited liability

This site is provided "as is," with no guarantee it will always be available, accurate, or error-free. To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site and its administrators aren't liable for content submitted by other users, or for third-party links.

How long we'll be here

We intend to keep Grandma's Front Porch running for as long as we're able to operate as a business. How long that is depends on the site's continued success — enough families choosing to use and support it to sustain the cost of running it. We can't promise the service will be available indefinitely, and we don't guarantee any minimum period of continued operation. If we're ever unable to continue operating the site, we'll make a reasonable effort to notify registered families in advance and provide a way to export your family's data beforehand.

Copyright and takedown requests

If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright — a photo, document, or other content you own that was uploaded without your permission — use the Contact Us link in the footer with a description of the content and its location on the site, and it will be reviewed and removed if warranted.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from your use of this site will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Texas.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the site grows; continued use after a change means you accept the update. Questions? use the Contact Us link in the footer.
